Tuition Fees

Tuition fees are low and affordable for students who are not citizens of EEA, the European Union, Switzerland and Nordic countries. As an international student, you need to pay only for the application and tuition costs for the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.

However, for international students applying for Doctoral programs, are offered free tuition. In Sweden, the students who are citizens of EU/EEA countries do not have to pay tuition fees. The universities only charge application fees which are around 100euro depending on the university.

Cost of living as an international student is 860 – 970 euro/month. Of course, this applies to Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, the home of 17 universities and colleges and a significant education center in the North of Europe. Other regions like Umea, Karlstad and Uppsala have lower average living costs of 700 – 870 euro/month, while other small cities of Sweden involve total costs of 600 -700 euro/month. These amounts are estimated amounts. It all depends on the spending rate of the individual.

Admission Requirement

Proficiency in English and TOEFL/IELTS score are not left out during admission if your program is taught in English. Kindly refer to your school of choice’s webpage for specific instruction on this since different universities in Sweden have different admission requirements.

Visa Requirements 

You are required to show proof that you have been offered admission to study in any university in Sweden. Also, you have to show that you are capable of self-financial support or that you will sponsored by someone for the entire duration of your course.
