2019 Cheap Tuition Universities in Austria with Tuition Fees

Sitting in the heart of Europe with stunning landscape, Austria is a country with blending features ranging from absolute peace to high quality education for international students. It’s higher education institutions have secured great achievements on an international level and gained a high reputation making it a cynosure to many students.

But the amazing thing is that the majority of international students have not yet seen the forest for the trees. In this post, we are looking at the cheap or inexpensive universities, admission requirements, visa, tuition Fees, cost of living and low tuition universities in Austria,

There are over-growing numbers of degree programs which you can choose from in Austrian universities. Also, you can choose between first-class research-based courses, a world-famous education at any of the universities of the arts, high-quality practice-based degree courses at the universities of applied sciences, and sound teacher education and innovative courses at private universities.

Arriving at Austria, you may be surprised with their common language- German if you are from an English speaking country. Considering this fact, one may wonder how international education is possible, knowing fully well that many international students can’t speak German. It might interest you to know that there are numerous courses taught in English. This enables the flow of English speaking international students to Austria.

With this and other admirable features, Austria has recently become a desirable study abroad destination for many international students. The Currency used is Euro. Austria is a federal state consisting of nine independent federal states: Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Upper Austria, Vienna and Vorarlberg.

Concerning Visa, EU/EEA students are not required to get a visa in order to study in Austria. However, if you plan to stay in Austria for six months or more, you need to apply for a residence permit. Kindly file your application on time for this and wait for it to be approved before coming to Austria. For more information, contact your local Austrian Embassy in your country.

Requirements for Visa application

Students coming from countries which are not EU/EEA members need to apply for a Visa Type D. The required documents for this are:

Visa D application form

Two passport photographs

Passport (must be valid for at least three months after your intended stay)

Letter of admission issued by your Austrian university

Proof of accommodation arrangements

Proof of health insurance

Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement and/or confirmation issued by future employer)

Notarized letter signed by one or both of your parents declaring financial responsibility (not required if you are able to financially support yourself)

Copy of your itinerary or round trip ticket

All applicants must also submit bio-metric data (10 fingerprints).

You need to schedule an appointment at the Austrian Embassy in your country in order to do this.

I said earlier that there are many courses available in English. Thus, you don’t need to previously have basic knowledge of German before enrolling in those programs. Up to 20% students enrolled in universities are international students. EEU Nationals don’t require work permit but it’s required for non EEU nationals (and number of work permits are limited).
