Cost of living in UK is amazingly low and affordable for international students who wish to study abroad in UK. It is estimated at £800 to £1200 per month. This amount certainly covers the accommodation cost, books and stationery, travels, food, and so on. The only factor that can alter this expense rate is the student’s way of managing his/her resources.

Admission requirements in UK

For undergraduate courses, a student usually needs to have achieved further education qualifications (such as A-levels, International Baccalaureate, Scottish Higher, or equivalent qualifications from your country) in related subjects.

For Admission to Master’s Degree a UK Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate subject, awarded with first or 2nd-class Honors, or a qualification of an equivalent standard from a university or educational institution in your country is required. Where the US/Canadian marking scheme is used, a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 is required

If English isn’t your first language, the university or college may ask you to take an English language test or show your English language qualifications before you can enroll. This may also be necessary for your visa application.

You may be required to show a result from any of these English tests. 

  1. International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) with score 6 or above depending on the course and institution
  2. Grade C in Cambridge Proficiency of English or Cambridge Advanced English; Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with score 550 or above.
  3. NEAB University Entrance Test in English for speakers of other languages at Grade 3.

Study in Germany

Cost of Living in Germany as an international student

Did you want to study free in Germany? But you need to know that education is not completely free in Germany as students will have to plan for their own living expenses. It is estimated at 600euros which covers the cost of accommodation, food, travels, books, stationeries, health care, registration fees etc. So, in one year the estimated cost of living is put at 8000 euro. This is an estimate amount; it could be more or less. It depends on the individual involved since different people have different lifestyles. 

Also, you must obtain a visa. But before it is granted, you will need to show proof that you can afford to take care of yourself while studying in the country. 

Two ways of doing this are;

  •    Open a German blocked account to the tune of 8000euro
  •    Present a sponsor’s letter obtained from a friend or relative in Germany who’s willing to take care of your living expenses in Germany.
