Athens is capital of Greece. List of low tuition universities in Greece, tuition fees, cost of living, admission requirements and deadlines are what we are considering today. Sit tight as we do the findings together.

Cost of Living

Cost of living in Greece is very low and affordable. Greece is one of the countries in Europe that operates on low living cost. Most international students studying an undergraduate degree in Greece will choose to live in private accommodation. So, as an estimate, the living cost, which depends on the individual can be put at about 1000 Euros per month and covers expenses like food, accommodation, books, transport and more.

Tuition fees

Students from the EU do not need to pay tuition fees at public universities and colleges in Greece. Non-EU students will have to pay little fees to cover their studies’ costs. The fee will depend on the course and institution, but as an international student, expect to pay around €1,500 per year for Bachelor’s degree programs.

Admission requirements and Deadlines

University Education is provided free (for EEA students) and the educational programs are mainly in the Greek language. However, there are some specialized courses (like Engineering) mainly at master’s level offered in the English language. The basic requirement for admission to tertiary education is possession of the Unified Lyceum leaving certificate also performance in nationwide test is an important factor during admission (some universities might have their own specific tests and requirements).

Admission to undergraduate courses and tuition are free so far, except for certain specific courses like MBAs. Foreigners from non-EU countries (with certain exceptions) wishing to study in Greece will have to get a student visa (type D) from a Greek consulate. All students (undergraduate or masters/PhD) get free health care until the end of their studies.

If you are applying for undergraduate studies in a Greek University, you would be needed to submit your application and supporting documents by the end of July or the beginning of August of the same year you will be starting your studies.
